White Light? Is it the right light?

White light: the universal panacea of the spiritual movement. It can do all and everything! Well, maybe not.

Like many spiritual concepts and tools, it can get overused, misused or be lost in translation. Don’t get me wrong it should be in your spiritual and energetic toolbox but use it wisely.

Firstly, what is it? And here comes problem number one. Different people see it as different things. Hence the word universal in the opening line. Ask yourself what is it to you, do you even know? Are you, in fact, using it because someone else told you to.

For me, white light is a definite energy. It comes from and is part of the Spirit realm. Please note, the Spirit realm and the Universe are two different things. The Spirit realm is the plane of existence where your Soul comes from and will return to. It is pure energy, with no matter. This is where Spirit resides in pure conscious energetic form.

White light is the substance that binds them together, exists in space between them and is of them. Their collective energy if you like. It can be sent by them to assist us. Or we can call it in as we are part Spirit. White light is pure and clear.

We can use white light for healing, clearing, expanding or as part of the opening up process. As the prism shows, white light can be split into various colours. This is what it does when healing but in reverse, where it brings dis-harmonious energy back into alignment as one harmonious energy.

Common misuses of white light

1. Protection

I often come across people who are protecting themselves with white light. Surrounding their aura with it. However, the is not protective. In fact is can create the opposite effect. Negativity is attracted to the light, not repelled by it. A bit like a moth to the flame. If you want to use a coloured light for protection try dark blue. My favourite visualisation and the one I share with my clients and students is to imagine the outside of your aura as mirrored (think 1970’s Disco Ball). Negativity is reflected away from you by the mirror.

2. Grounding

Often students use white light when they are grounding – seeing their roots as white, or the energy of Mother Earth as white or indeed even bringing white light down from the Spirit through the crown chakra and then into the Earth. White light is weightless. When we use the word Light it is in both senses of the word – luminous and weight. Where white light is faster moving than we are it can, in fact, unground you rather than ground. I encourage my students to consider their base chakra also known as the root chakra – what colour is it? Red. It is called the root chakras as this is the where you ground from. Therefore, using the colour red for your roots and the energy of Mother Earth coming back into you is more grounding than white.

3. Crown Chakra

Another problem I find is that students don’t know the colours of the chakras. Many times they say their crown chakra is white. No, it is violet. When you envisage your crown chakra as white you are in effect over stimulating it which can lead to you being too open and struggling with clarity. If you look at the colours of the chakras there is a logical order – based around how colours merge – Red & Yellow makes Orange, Yellow & Blue makes Green, Blue & Violet makes dark blue – think back to the prism.

Some good uses for white light-

1. Washing through your aura

2. Washing through a chakra (or all of them)

3. Cleansing a space or object

4. Balancing your own energy (for instance you have too much physical energy or red energy and need to lighten up).

5. Cleansing and charging crystals

6. Lifting the mood in a room or space where it has got too heavy

White Light is a combination of all colours, as we see colour. Don’t forget all the other colours; they are equally useful and potent. Blue and Green are very healing and calming. Pink can help with giving and receiving love (especially for self). Yellow can strengthen your free will and confidence. Orange can assist with emotions and creativity. Violet is good for Spirit communication.

When cleaning your chakras using the colour associated with that chakra is often more suitable than using white. Remember white is very fast moving and can create expansion. Your chakra might need calming rather than stimulating. When grounding you might brown for your roots more soothing than red, especially if you are very connected to nature.

We live in a world of colour. So don’t be monochrome when working with Spirit and Spirituality. We are Spirit but we are also human and our body is physical matter. Physical matter resonates with colour. If we overuse white light we will run the risk of devaluing it or neutralising it. We can become complacent.

Keep white light in your toolbox along with all the other colours. Use your own instincts as to what colour to use. Ask your Spirit Guides or Soul if you are unsure. Then when you do use white light it will be all the more poignant.

Trance Mediumship: Shh! Quiet Please!

Silence Please

Quiet Please

Trance mediumship has lots of obstacles from your ego through to being detached, but one of the hardest for students, in the beginning, is being distracted.  Usually, the distraction comes in the form of NOISE.  Students comment that everyone was breathing too loud or they couldn’t concentrate when others were speaking and so on.

This has to do with one of the aspects of channelling and trance mediumship development at the beginning of the process you often become hypersensitive.  Things sound ten times louder than they are, even smells can be more acute. This is simply your mind and senses trying to compensate for the altered state you are trying to create.

Much the same as with meditation and trying to silence the mind you suddenly get random thoughts or an itch somewhere strange like your big toe.  It is merely part of our survival mechanism, and it takes time to overcome.  Yes, I am speaking about our old friend TRUST again but this time it is about trusting yourself; knowing that you are safe.

I always encourage my students to work through the noise barrier because the real world, outside the classroom, is VERY NOISY.  A hundred plus years ago if you asked for silence, you actually got it.  But today our version of silence often has a background noise that is 80-100 decibels in cities.

I gave a trance lecture – “Evolving your Energy” –  where Spirit stepped forward to speak about this dynamic subject to a background noise of roadworks right outside the window – and they were very loud.  Without training in getting past noise, it would have been impossible to enter the altered state.  Even the stage I was sat on was vibrating from the sound, but this is real life and real circumstances.

For Spirit to have a chance to talk to you as they wish to trance mediums and channels need to learn to work in less rarified locations and settings. Would I love absolute silence, of course, do I ever expect it, absolutely not. As a channel, it is my job not to be distracted, but to relax and let go regardless – something I aim to do to the best of my abilities.

So if you are learning about channelling and trance mediumship and someone is making noise see it as a gift, not a nuisance.

Energy balancing continued …

Hi all,

I am still recovering from the effects of being ill in August and the on-going work needed to get back into energetic balance. At the moment my focus is on that fact that I am not grounded. Well, to be fair compare to many I am very grounded but compared to my usual self I am not. With my students we play a game about grounding where they give each other a score out of 10 (1 being not grounded at all and 10 being very grounded). It is good fun as it makes them connect to what being grounded feels like but also looks like.

Usually when we play this game my score is above 10, as my students recognise that I am very grounded indeed. However, at the moment my score is only 8. You might be thinking well I’d settled for an 8, but for me this is uncomfortable. I know I am not as grounded as I can be or like to be.

So I have put my attention into grounding more and working deeper with my connection to Mother Earth when I ground. At the moment my physical body is also no helping as it has reacted to me not being grounded by inflaming my achilles tendon in my right foot; which makes walking a problem and running for the bus an absolute no. Those of you who know about the energy of the body will be saying – ah thats a problem with walking your physical journey – well yes it is. My body wants to rest and do nothing else but my work commitments mean I need to strike a balance which I am not succeeding in doing. Let’s just call it a work in progress.

Being ungrounded for me, also means my attention span and concentration are not at their best, so I have to work twice as hard to achieve the same result as usual. Frustrating to say the least. But at least I recognise the problem. Many people are ungrounded and don’t realise that is what the problem is. When my students start working with me and we cover grounding they are often quite self assured that they are grounded and everything is fine. But once we do the exercise and they feel the difference there is a shift in them. After a few weeks, when they have been grounding daily as their homework, the shift can be quite dramatic. A simply five minute a day visualisation to root and anchor yourself really does have a huge effect.

My parting thought for today is – Are you Grounded?

Recovering from Surgery – The energy battle begins!

Dear Friends,

Some of you may have read my latest newsletter and know that I am currently recovering from surgery and the added complication of anaphylactic shock which has left me shatter and batter. It will take sometime for my body, at a physical level, to recover. The surgery is what they call “blunt force” so my shoulder feels like it has gone six rounds with Mike Tyson and for the first few weeks looked like it too. The anaphylactic shock also knocks your body systems around and has completely wiped out the last ten years of resistance building, so I am now hyper-sensitive to all my allergens and then some.

Putting the physical trauma aside, I am also dealing with energetic trauma on ever single layer of my being. Any of you who work with Spirit will know that hospitals, in general, have a terrible energy about them and understandably so, but that does affect you when you are there. Normally if I am visiting a hospital my defences protect me from anything, but of course when you are ill they tend drop or at least get a bit shaky. So whilst in the hospital, when I could I focused on my protection and repelled as much negativity as I could. I also talked to my Spirit Guides as much as possible and kept my intentions clear as to my desired outcome.

Sounds good, and in practice after the surgery I left the hospital clear of any negativity. However, my life path had others ideas and the anaphylactic shock challenged even my focus and intentions. For those of you, who might not know, anaphylactic shock kills within 20-25 minutes unless treated, you suffocate or have a heart attack. Treatment is an adrenaline injection. Oh yes, I had to inject myself. What fun! Panic, which is inevitable in these circumstances, wiped out my clarity, protection and positive thinking; leaving me more vulnerable than usual. Fortunately my protection held and when I was able I focused on my Aura again and shielded myself.

This leaves me with the energetic damage; the surgery; the shock the body experiences having the surgery under a local; the allergic reactions; the various and many drugs taken; and finally but not least the emotional trauma. As spiritual workers we understand about protection and grounding and the need to keep out energy clear but we often do not speak about the impact of ill-health, medication and medical treatment. Synchronicity has played an interesting role as only a few months ago Master Chou did a pod-cast on Health & Healthcare, in which he yet again mentioned the combination of medical and spiritual treatments and how they compliment each other and improve recovery. Sure enough a few days after being released from hospital I went to see a Spiritual Healer (Martha Brett, a great friend and great healer) and had an hour long session. After which I felt so much better.

Martha, told me something I did know but relates to this need to combine treatments, she mentioned that general anaesthetic lingers in the energetic bodies for up to a year and the local I had been given could linger for several months.  That is not a reason not to have these things but it is a reason to augment your recovery with Spiritual Healing (or a form of energy healing). The difference in how I felt after one session was ten fold and I will probably have more sessions over the next few months.

We underestimate the impact of daily life on our Energetic System, let alone the trauma of any kind of illness and its treatments. Our Energy System is usually the last to get dealt with, if it ever does. So over the next few months I will writing about my journey to balance and heal my energy and integrate my pacemakers energetic signature into mine. I am hoping to add some exercises and thoughts for anyone who is interested in energy work or harmonising their own energy.

More thoughts to come soon.
