Healing – A Piece of Spirit Writing

saint-francis-of-assisi

Here is another piece of writing by one of my Inspirational & Automatic Writing students. The topic given to Spirit was “Healing” and the student felt drawn to ask St Francis of Assisi to step forward and write. This is what he wrote – hope you enjoy it.  Sarah

Healing – with St Francis of Assisi

There are many forms of healing for there are many different kinds of injury needing to be healed. Most obvious, in human terms, is the art of the physician, where God-given intelligence enables him or her to diagnose a problem with the physical body or the mental wellness of the human and to prescribe treatments to cure or alleviate the problem.

Much progress has been made on a physical level with medicine but many challenges still remain, for the human body is a complex and delicate machine. Human life is fragile.  Still, not all ills can be cured, not all damages mended.  The fragility of human life renders it all the more precious.

Less progress has been made in terms of mental health.  Here, man’s comfort with the physical, his focus on all things scientific, is not so much help as hindrance – for he is less likely to address the emotional, the spiritual, with success if he is mired in a world of membranes and chemicals.

There is some helpful crossing over between the two approaches – the maturing world of physical medicine and the emerging one of emotional medicine – in the area known as alternative medicine. Here, energetic therapies such as Reiki cross the barrier between the physical and the emotional. For this is healing which is non-specific in its creation and which flows to where it is most needed, taking the form in which it will be most effective. These forms of healing hold the clue for the progression of human medicine.

In your future, therapies will arise that are almost beyond current comprehension. Non-specific growing of human matter and the creation of chemical substances that will transform into what is needed by the body; the control of natural energies that will flow to where they are needed and effect the transformation – the cure – of their own accord.

But perfect health throughout a human life is not, nor never will be, possible, for the vehicle is built to have a limited life span. Human life is intended to be brief, for it is a learning period. And as you all know from your schooling, the best lessons are short, intense and interactive.  If they go on too long, if interest and attention is lost, then learning ceases to happen.

These, then, are the various methods currently employed, and those of the future that will be employed, in the laying on of hands – whether surgically, energetically, or chemically – to heal the human body or mind.

Now let us address healing in a broader sense, for it is not always doctoring which is of the greatest value. Here, let us bring to mind the healing power of an embrace, of a smile, of a few words kindly spoken or written.

One of the greatest gifts bestowed on anyone having a human experience is that he or she is sharing that life with others. You are not alone. There are others around you who share similar challenges, experiences, feelings.

And the greatest sources of healing, the most effective types of healing, are not always the most obvious ones. Sometimes a physical injury is not fixable. Sometimes an illness is not curable. Does this mean that no form of healing is effective? No. For is not the comfort of a loved one’s presence a boon, even when your body is beyond repair? Are not words of comfort or love, spoken softly, exactly what is needed when one feels beyond hope?  Emotional healing goes far beyond the physical body. And when the physical body cannot be healed, emotional healing is even more necessary.

In your search for the next wonder drug, the next surgical technique, the next gene therapy, do not forget the power of a loving embrace.  Do not forget the power of sincere words.  Open your hearts to what it means to be in need of healing.  Share your shared life.  The injuries to others are not always visible, the life that most needs healing is not always visibly blighted.  Sometimes those most in need of healing appear to others to be living a charmed or perfect life.

This is where a healer’s senses go beyond those known to conventional medicine.  This is where the healer that exists in every human can emerge and perform a miracle.  For every one of you can heal.  Every one of you can perform miracles daily.  It does not require a surgeon’s training or a psychiatrist’s learning.  It does not even require an alternative practitioner’s years of study.  All it requires is an open heart, a connectedness to your soul. And then, in tune with yourself, you are also in tune with others.  Then in your openness you can feel the other’s need on an instinctive level.

A kind word as you pass in a doorway, a smile to a stranger as you travel to work, a hand on a shoulder, an embrace at the end of a long day, fingers smoothing hair across a furrowed brow, a hand held. A few well-chosen words:  I love you, I am sorry, may I help, you are not alone, I am here.  These small things are the currency of healing, for all healing begins with connectedness and willingness to share. Sometimes the sharing means taking – sharing a burden for example – and sometimes it means giving, perhaps energy or attention or physical support. Give and take, connectedness.  This is where healing begins and where it ends.

In the centre there is medicine and science and there are developments to come in all these areas. But what will never change is the attendant need for the small healings of everyday life. For, given in enough quality and quantity, they themselves can prevent many greater ills from occurring.

And so I leave you with this thought:  do not leave healing solely to the physicians, eminent and admirable as they are.  Do not leave it even to those who assign themselves as healers, gifted and generous as they are.  Determine, instead, to be a healer yourself, for that is your gift as a human being.

Bring healing to your words and touch, and empathy to all your relationships, every day.  Begin with your relationship with yourself.  Be compassionate with your self.  Do not criticise, but support your self with love and praise, with kind words at the end of a challenging day.  Tell your self you are beautiful, that you are strong, that this too shall pass. Then do the same for those you care for most – and then for those whose lives are touched by yours even in the most fleeting of moments.

Be a ripple in the current that runs through the world, connecting each living thing to another and another. Heal and be healed in the simplest and most fundamental of ways: be kind to one another.

Rabbit and Bear (A piece of Spirit Writing)

From Pinterest, via Sue Bunce

Bear Spirit. Shamanic

Here is another piece of writing from Spirit done by one of my students. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

“The bear and the rabbit

Take my hand said the bear

I will lean on your shoulder said the rabbit

I offer you my strength said the bear

I give you my energy said the rabbit

Walk with me said the bear

Hop with me said the rabbit

Towards the sunset said the bear

Forward to the moon said the rabbit

Along the path the bear and rabbit went

One towards the sunset, one forward to the moon rising.

Look at the white flowers said the rabbit

Look at the blue sky pointed the bear

Silently walking and looking

Looking and walking

The bear and the rabbit.

I love this said the rabbit to the bear

I love you said the bear to the rabbit

Silently sitting and looking

Looking and sitting

Silently at the stars

The sun has set and moon yet to rise

Here in this space just for you rabbit and just for you bear.”

Creative Trance Mediumship

Creation

I am always surprised by how old-fashioned people’s thinking is when considering trance mediumship. Oh, how the world view has become limited.

Traditionally all communication from Spirit was via trance, whether that was philosophy, automatic writing, physical phenomena or proof of survival. However, today, trance is seen in a very limited way and often shrouded in fear and misinformation. Spirit are “trailblazers” always looking to be on the “cutting edge” of what is possible with the consideration of what we need as a people. As we advance in knowledge, technology, beliefs and evolution, Spirit are right there beside us doing the same with how they communicate and connect with us.

Trance mediumship as a subject and tool is very diverse and has the potential to expand even more, should we allow it. For instance, the Spirit Communicators have changed and now speak from many levels of understanding; they may have had a human experience or not. They are stepping forward to give words but these can be spoken, written, sung or even delivered a Soul level that only the Soul can hear.

In the past, Spirit communicators were often Native American Indians, Chinese Sages or Individuals who had a human life. But now we are seeing more Collectives and beings who have not had earthly lives. Of course some of this is being driven by ego and human manifestation but it is also a fact that Spirit have changed how they work with us. More communicators are stepping forward.

I have both a Chinese Sage (Master Chou) and a Collective (The Oracle), they were definitely chalk and cheese when I first started working with them. That difference is now less, as my work with Master Chou has changed and grown. It is a privilege to work with such diverse energies. Likewise, the Spirit beings who work with me for trance healing are many and seem to cover many levels and vibrations and decide who is healing based on the clients needs.

There is much about energy and spirit we still do not know, and Spirit love to experiment. This is not about recreating the old but creating new and exciting ways of working and delivering information. As the human populations grows, so our need for more options and different ways increases. The idea of “something for everyone” is at the core of how Spirit work. As a vessel, channel and teacher it is part of my role to help create, by allowing Spirit to experiment and encouraging my students to not limit the potential.

Exciting times lie ahead for Spirit communication, but it is up to us to allow it and go with the flow.

Balance of Light & Dark – Inspirational Writing Piece

Balance of Light and Dark

Here is a piece of Inspirational Writing done by one of my students that I wanted to share with you. The students were set the task of asking one of their Guides to write about light and dark from Spirit’s perspective.

Hope you enjoy it

Sarah

When your teacher set this task your world had not quite reached the shortest day of the year, when the balance of light and dark is at its most extreme. But just as the wheel of the year turns and the days and nights grow longer and shorter, so the light and darkness of the spirit, of the mind and of the heart waxes and wanes in us all, dependent on the life we are living, our place in the spirit world and the tasks we have set ourselves.

So many changes and yet if we were to look at all this from a great distance we would see the balance of the light and the shade.

In human life many of your sayings refer to light and dark – not only the brightness of the day and the darkness of the night, but also the brightness of a smile, the darkness of a mood or of the heart. You refer to someone being “in a dark place” and you do not always mean that he or she is in a room without candles or electric light. You refer to his mood, his inability to escape depression or despair and emerge into the lightness – yes, that word again – the sunshine of the heart, of laughter. It is no coincidence that your language concerning light and dark is steeped in references to emotions, moods, to the journey of the soul. Aha – yes – the long dark night of the soul. Indeed.

This is an echo of what your greater self – the whole self who resides in spirit, rather than the part of you incarnated into flesh – knows to be true: that there is no such thing as a man or a woman, or indeed a soul, who is wholly good or bad, wholly light or dark. We are all a mixture of the two – we must be to be healthy, to maintain balance and with that balance to maintain good judgement and most importantly perspective and peace. Inner peace, stillness and tranquility comes from the balance of light and dark.

We each of us, in whatever stage of incarnated life or of our greater self’s journey in spirit, strive to achieve that perfect balance. Follow the sun’s arc across the sky and observe the changing light. Is dawn more beautiful than brilliant noon, or mellow afternoon, or glowing sunset? Now watch the moon progress across the sky. Does its rising in the twilight sky have more magic, more allure than its fullness or its crescent among the twinkling stars, or its setting as dawn begins to break? So light and shadow chases its path across all our lives and levels of existence.  Because the balance comes not from one perfect moment of harmony – from which point we are fixed, set in reverential perfection forever – but from our rise and fall, our dawns and our sunsets; from the ever-changing pattern of our incarnations and our journeys in spirit. Sometimes we embody the light, sometimes the darkness. Most times we are a mixture of the two. But take all lives, all existences, and consider them together and the beauty of balance begins to emerge. So do not consider anyone a saint or an evil man or woman – they are an essential part of that balanced picture and in the next frame of the great moving picture of life they may have changed places with you. Where once you were the shadow now you are in the spotlight – or perhaps you are the spotlight itself. Where once you shone, now you are the fading twilight. We are the Milky Way of glimmering humanity and spirit travellers. Shifting, changing, shining, fading, living our lives, travelling our paths, never knowing nor needing to know where we fit into that balanced whole. We need only concern ourselves with listening to our soul, the inner voice that tells us how we need to travel in our current sphere. By following that inner voice we shine or cast a shadow exactly as we should.

Looking deeply into the depth of self – Automatic Writing Piece

Window to the soul

At the weekend I ran my monthly writing group where we practice Inspirational and Automatic Writing, and I wanted to share a couple of pieces that were written with you.

Today, is a piece I did that I find interesting due to its format and flow; it is quite different to other pieces I have done. One of the group mentioned it reminded her of a Greek Chorus. Here it is; there will be a piece done by a member of the group next week.

Hope you enjoy this.

Sarah

Fortitude is the way forward
Solace is the way back
Joy is the turning point
And grace the destination

Travel keenly, travel well
The road of many paths
For there you’ll find the reservoir
Of what lies within

Within the Soul of man
The hidden place
Is all the truth you need
The answers and the questions

Of what you seek and need
The Soul is but a vessel
True and sure and safe
For holding that most sacred

Securely in place
Within is all you need
Within is all the knowledge
Seek not without or worldly

For nothing holds the truth for you
But the vessel, the Soul
The reservoir of knowing
The cup of life, journey and end

For the end is surely the beginning
The end is also the middle
The eternal dance, the circle, the spin
The way to exist with all

The all the everything
Seek only the answer you need
Seek only to be true to you
For you, Soul and all are everything

Be not afraid of what you may find
For it is only harmonious and peaceful
Within the true self
Within is peace, within is love

Who’s Speaking

Doorkeeper

When working with Spirit in an altered state it is important to know “Who is speaking to you and through you”. It’s interesting that students often doubt that it is Spirit and not their mind more than they worry about who the Spirit is and is their intention right. Working in an altered state is a wonderful tool for Spirit communication but as the vessel you are responsible for the what is said – so be sure about who is saying it.

Now that doesn’t mean what is their name as Spirit generally only use names to make things easier for us. But you should be certain that they are Spirit and what their agenda or purpose is. Students who come to trance training have often missed out on building a relationship with their Guides. This is vital to working safely and responsibly. They are their to support you, protect you and guide you.

We are always aiming to be a clear channel for Spirit and that requires us to reflect on our intentions, expectations and beliefs with regard to Spirit (as I have written about before). Having a good relationship with your own Guides gives you perspective and a foundation on which to build a relationship with a Spirit Communicator. Your first step should be your Doorkeeper – they are your bodyguard/protector from the unseen or energetic.

Having clear boundaries with your Doorkeeper about what you will and won’t accept, and, who can and can’t step forward gives your connection to Spirit a formality that is needed for professional work. Remember you can always change the boundaries later as you become more comfortable with the work and Spirit. However, if you have no boundaries any energy can approach you and claim to be Spirit even when they are not.

Be clear about what you are allowing and why, don’t be fooled by flattery and glorification – Spirit will speak to your soul needs not your ego. Get to know your own Guides, especially your Doorkeeper and have a clear sense of how Spirit sound and their behaviour towards you and others. If you have doubts act on them, get advice from a professional and challenge Spirit yourself.

They need to earn your trust as much as you need to earn theirs. Your Doorkeeper is your best ally, keeping you safe as best they can. Remember to give them permission to do more and ask for their protection especially when working with Spirit. Be responsible. (If you do not believe that there is anything that you need to protect yourself from, then that belief acts as your protection.) Protection is not only from negative forces it is also from influences that are not for your highest good.

Get to know your Guides, your trance work will be better for it.

Trance Mediumship: Expectations

IMG_0269

Working as a trance medium is not an easy path to follow as there are many who do not believe in spirit communication. Harder still are those who do believe except for trance work – this they believe is simply the mind and ego of the medium and not spirit. They forget that working in an altered state was where it all started.

However, they also have a point. There are those who say they are working in trance bringing through spirit who are in fact bringing through their own ego or subconscious mind. Trance is not immune to faking, whether that is being consciously done or not. The reality is that philosophy is easy to manufacture from the human mind without there being any spirit involvement.

Once the ego has got involved it is hard to get it out-of-the-way. This is why training is so important. If you are thinking about developing as a trance medium then be mindful or your mind. We all have expectations, whether we are aware of them or not; experiences in your life colour what you do, think and feel. It is important to come to trance work with a knowing of your expectations and ideally clear of them with regard to spirit communication.

What I mean by expectations are – how spirit speak, what they might talk about, who you want to work with, what you want to do with the trance work and so on. All of these ideas can be used by your ego and subconscious mind to manufacture what you expect to happen. This is why a good teacher, sitters and/or fellow students is important. We all need someone to reflect back to us what we are doing to ensure it is real. Those around you watching you work can heighten the expectation and feed the fantasy if they are not grounded and aware of their own ideas and beliefs. They can in effect direct your work without being aware they are doing it.

Be mindful. Ask yourself why you are embarking on this path. Do you know yourself? Do you know your own beliefs and expectations surrounding the work of spirit? Spirit needs us to be clear channels – clear of expectations with a balanced ego, knowing of self and centred energy. Once you have that the connection is amazing and the communication will shine. Don’t fall foul of someone else’s fantasy, know in your own heart this is for you and allow your soul to be your guide.
