Live it!

8a192-spiral_shell Whilst sitting quietly preparing for my latest Spirit Writing Circle I received the following piece of inspiration from Spirit. I thought it was simple yet beautiful. Hope you enjoy it. Sarah

White Light? Is it the right light?

Prism

The universal panacea of the spiritual movement. It can do all and everything! Well, maybe not.

Like many spiritual concepts and tools it can get over used, mis-used or lost in translation. Don’t get me wrong it should be in your spiritual and energetic toolbox but use it wisely.

Firstly, what is it? And here comes problem number one. Different people see it as different things. Hence the word universal in the opening line. Ask yourself what is it to you, do you even know? Are you, in fact, using it because someone else told you to.

For me, white light is a definite energy. It comes from and is part of the Spirit realm. Please note, the Spirit realm and the Universe are two different things. The Spirit realm is the plane of existence where your Soul comes from and will return to. It is pure energy, with no matter. This is where Spirit reside in pure conscious energetic form.

White light is the substance that binds them together, exists in space between them and is of them. Their collective energy if you like. It can be sent by them to assist us. Or we can call it in as we are part Spirit. White light is pure and clear.

We can use white light for healing, clearing, expanding or as part of the opening up process. As the prism shows, white light can be split into the various colours. This is what it does when healing but in reverse, where it brings dis-harmonious energy back into alignment as one harmonious energy.

Common mis-uses of white light

1. Protection

I often come across people who are protecting themselves with white light. Surrounding their aura with it. However, the is not protective. In fact is can create the opposite effect. Negativity is attracted to the light, not repelled by it. Bit like a moth to the flame. If you want to use a coloured light for protection try dark blue. My favourite visualisation and the one I share with my clients and students is to imagine the outside of your aura as mirrored (think 1970’s Disco Ball). Negativity is reflected away from you by the mirror.

2. Grounding

Often students use white light when they are grounding – seeing their roots as white, or the energy of Mother Earth as white or indeed even bringing white light down from the Spirit through the crown chakra and then into the Earth. White light is weightless. When we use the word Light it is in both senses of the word – luminous and weight. Where white light is faster moving than we are it can in fact unground you rather than ground. I encourage my students to consider their base chakra also known as the root chakra – what colour is it? Red. It is called the root chakras as this is the where you ground from. Therefore, using the colour red for your roots and the energy of Mother Earth coming back into you is more grounding than white.

3. Crown Chakra

Another problem I find is that students don’t know the colours of the chakras. Many times they say their crown chakra is white. No, it is violet. When you envisage your crown chakra as white you are in effect over stimulating it which can lead to you being too open and struggling with clarity. If you look at the colours of the chakras there is a logical order – based around how colours merge – Red & Yellow makes Orange, Yellow & Blue makes Green, Blue & Violet makes dark blue – think back to the prism.

Some good uses for white light-

1. Washing through your aura

2. Washing through a chakra (or all of them)

3. Cleansing a space or object

4. Balancing your own energy (for instance you have too much physical energy or red energy and need to lighten up).

5. Cleansing and charging crystals

6. Lifting the mood in a room or space where it has got too heavy

White Light is combination of all colours, as we see colour. Don’t forget all the other colours; they are equally useful and potent. Blue and Green are very healing and calming. Pink can help with giving and receiving love (especially for self). Yellow can strengthen your free will and confidence. Orange can assist with emotions and creativity. Violet is good for Spirit communication.

When cleaning your chakras using the colour associated with that chakra is often more suitable than using white. Remember white is very fast moving and can create expansion. Your chakra might need calming rather than stimulating. When grounding you might brown for your roots more soothing than red, especially if you are very connected to nature.

We live in a world of colour. So don’t be monochrome when working with Spirit and Spirituality. We are Spirit but we are also human and our body is physical matter. Physical matter resonates with colour. If we over use white light we will run the risk of devaluing it or neutralising it. We can become complacent.

Keep white light in your toolbox along with all the other colours. Use your own instincts as to what colour to use. Ask your Spirit Guides or Soul if you are unsure. Then when you do use white light it will be all the more poignant.

Looking deeply into the depth of self – Automatic Writing Piece

Window to the soul

At the weekend I ran my monthly writing group where we practice Inspirational and Automatic Writing, and I wanted to share a couple of pieces that were written with you.

Today, is a piece I did that I find interesting due to its format and flow; it is quite different to other pieces I have done. One of the group mentioned it reminded her of a Greek Chorus. Here it is; there will be a piece done by a member of the group next week.

Hope you enjoy this.

Sarah

Fortitude is the way forward
Solace is the way back
Joy is the turning point
And grace the destination

Travel keenly, travel well
The road of many paths
For there you’ll find the reservoir
Of what lies within

Within the Soul of man
The hidden place
Is all the truth you need
The answers and the questions

Of what you seek and need
The Soul is but a vessel
True and sure and safe
For holding that most sacred

Securely in place
Within is all you need
Within is all the knowledge
Seek not without or worldly

For nothing holds the truth for you
But the vessel, the Soul
The reservoir of knowing
The cup of life, journey and end

For the end is surely the beginning
The end is also the middle
The eternal dance, the circle, the spin
The way to exist with all

The all the everything
Seek only the answer you need
Seek only to be true to you
For you, Soul and all are everything

Be not afraid of what you may find
For it is only harmonious and peaceful
Within the true self
Within is peace, within is love

Trance Mediumship: Expectations

IMG_0269

Working as a trance medium is not an easy path to follow as there are many who do not believe in spirit communication. Harder still are those who do believe except for trance work – this they believe is simply the mind and ego of the medium and not spirit. They forget that working in an altered state was where it all started.

However, they also have a point. There are those who say they are working in trance bringing through spirit who are in fact bringing through their own ego or subconscious mind. Trance is not immune to faking, whether that is being consciously done or not. The reality is that philosophy is easy to manufacture from the human mind without there being any spirit involvement.

Once the ego has got involved it is hard to get it out-of-the-way. This is why training is so important. If you are thinking about developing as a trance medium then be mindful or your mind. We all have expectations, whether we are aware of them or not; experiences in your life colour what you do, think and feel. It is important to come to trance work with a knowing of your expectations and ideally clear of them with regard to spirit communication.

What I mean by expectations are – how spirit speak, what they might talk about, who you want to work with, what you want to do with the trance work and so on. All of these ideas can be used by your ego and subconscious mind to manufacture what you expect to happen. This is why a good teacher, sitters and/or fellow students is important. We all need someone to reflect back to us what we are doing to ensure it is real. Those around you watching you work can heighten the expectation and feed the fantasy if they are not grounded and aware of their own ideas and beliefs. They can in effect direct your work without being aware they are doing it.

Be mindful. Ask yourself why you are embarking on this path. Do you know yourself? Do you know your own beliefs and expectations surrounding the work of spirit? Spirit needs us to be clear channels – clear of expectations with a balanced ego, knowing of self and centred energy. Once you have that the connection is amazing and the communication will shine. Don’t fall foul of someone else’s fantasy, know in your own heart this is for you and allow your soul to be your guide.

History or His Story?

When viewing your life be careful of looking back to often. History is not always an accurate depiction of what occur; it is always coloured by the views, beliefs or agenda of the writer and rememberer. History is very much the authors own story of those events as your life is when you review the past. Each time you look backwards you see it differently, but not necessarily honestly.

Your past is simply that – PAST. What matters is the NOW and TOMORROW. Those are things you can shape by what you believe at this moment. Looking back distracts you, confuses you and can leave you stuck. However, looking forward can free you and enlighten you; of course it can also frighten you. Do not allow fear to stand in your way or make you look over your shoulder all the time. Looking ahead or looking inward are where the answers are.

Part of knowing your inner compass is understanding what direction is about. It is not there to judge you; it is merely there to indicate what you have achieved. Place yourself at the centre of the compass facing NORTH – South is then your past and everything you have learnt. North is your future and everything more you will learn and achieve. East & West represent different aspects of who you are at this moment; your balance between feminine & masculine, physical & spiritual and creative & logical.

Your past is going no where, your future is going everywhere. Be creative and work with your compass, explore the different directions if you wish but do so to know yourself not to judge yourself, there is a difference. Remember, if you are standing in the centre of your compass all directions are possible; however, if you are standing to far in any one direction – it is time to move.

Thinking about the New Year

Dear all,

Christmas is just around the corner and already there is cheer and laughter and the bonding of family. My house is full of lights, Holly and merriment and of course good food. But my mind is turning to the new year and what lies ahead.

2010 has not been an easy year for any of us and it looks like 2011 is going to be just as hard. However, that does not mean it is time to give up but instead to charge forward with purpose and intention. So NO resolutions! Let’s face it come the end of January they are all out of the window any way; and they just become a way to punish or judge yourself. Instead I am thinking loving thoughts and being kind to myself.

So 2011 will be a year about me, sounds a little self-centred but actually it is about time. 2010 included builders and surgery – so a lot of external/physical renovation. Now the internal stuff needs looking at. Lots of working with my emotions, soul and higher self. And that will translate into the work I do next year as well. I will of course still be teaching trance and channelling but I will also be exploring more about the self from a Spirit perspective and let’s face it they have plenty to teach us we just need to start paying more attention.

Therefore one of my new year intentions is to get the word of Spirit out to a bigger audience. Any thoughts on how are always welcome. So one intention down, several more to write. I’ll let you know how I get on.

Christmas cheer.
